Stanley Cup Flashback
The 1967 season was a stunning year for the Maple Leafs and was also the last season that the team won the Stanley Cup. It was the fourth Cup win in the 1960s and was also the last Stanley Cup showdown that featured only the "Original Six" teams in the NHL.
Although the 1967 team included many of the same members that had led the Leafs to their previous three Stanley Cups, Head Coach Punch Imlach decided to add three time 40-game winner Terry Sawchuk to the roster. Sawchuk split games with Leaf great Johnny Bower, and the two goaltenders alternated throughout the season as stoppers between the pipes. With a 32-27-11 record, the Leafs finished the season third overall behind the first-place Blackhawks and two points behind the second-place Canadiens. The Leafs won the Stanley cup!
